Frequently Asked Questions
- Can jaguars be seen on this tour?
Madidi National Park is home to jaguars. Although sightings are not guaranteed (as they are elusive), the "Cakiawaca" trail is said to have "high chances of spotting tapirs or surprise encounters with rarer animals" (which may include jaguars). Spotting tracks and the guide’s expertise increase your chances. - What are the “Military Macaw” and “Yungas Tyrannulet”?
These are standout bird species in the park. The Military Macaw (Ara militaris) is a large, colorful parrot. The Yungas Tyrannulet (Phyllomyias weedeni) is a small bird species endemic to the Yungas region, meaning it is only found there. - What is the night safari and is it included?
The night safari (guided walk) is an optional activity that allows you to spot nocturnal wildlife such as owls or giant armadillos. It is included as an optional experience.
