Frequently Asked Questions
- What's the difference between Madidi National Park and the Yacuma Pampas?
Madidi is a dense tropical rainforest with immense biodiversity, though animals are harder to spot due to thick vegetation. The Yacuma Pampas are flooded grasslands teeming with wildlife, easily observed during boat rides. This tour combines both ecosystems for a more complete view of Bolivia’s fauna. - Is it safe to swim with pink river dolphins?
Yes, swimming with pink river dolphins in the Pampas is a popular and generally safe activity, always under the supervision of experienced local guides who understand animal behavior and river conditions. - What animals can I expect to see?
In Madidi: monkeys (capuchins, tamarins, spider monkeys), tapirs (possibly), birds (macaws, eagles, quails, antbirds, owls). In Pampas: herons, sloths, capybaras, lizards, caimans, pink dolphins, monkeys, toucans, and parakeets. - Does the flexible itinerary mean I can change the activities?
The itinerary states that "visitors can suggest certain activities based on their interests" and that excursions are "not subject to a fixed schedule." This implies a degree of flexibility, but it's important to coordinate with your guide and the agency to ensure safety and feasibility.
