Detailed Itinerary – Huayna Potosí Summit Adventure (2 Days)
09:00 AM – Start of the Adventure
Pick-up from a central meeting point in La Paz. The journey begins!
Arrival at Base Camp
After a scenic 1 hour 45 min ride, we reach Base Camp. Enjoy the mountain views and take a short break.
Energizing Lunch
We enjoy a hearty lunch at Base Camp to fuel our afternoon hike.
Acclimatization Hike to High Camp (5200 m)
We hike for about 1 hour on an easy trail to reach High Camp, a vital step for acclimatization.
Lodging at High Camp
Time to settle in, organize gear, and rest for the big day ahead.
Early Dinner
A warm dinner is served to prepare your body for the summit push.
06:00 PM – Pre-Summit Rest
We go to bed early to recover and prepare for the midnight ascent.
Vital Breakfast
Light yet energizing breakfast before the climb begins.
Start of the Ascent
We ascend under the stars, tied to the guide for safety. The climb includes:
- First Glacier Section: A gradual and accessible climb up to 5500 m.
- Ice Wall: A 50-meter stretch of 55–60° slope, the most technical part.
- Snow Ridge: A plateau and narrow ridge leading to the summit.
Summit – 6088 m!
After 4–7 hours, we reach the summit of Huayna Potosí. Enjoy an unforgettable sunrise and panoramic view of the Andes. You’ll have around 10 minutes for photos and celebration.
Descent
Carefully begin your descent back to High Camp.
Return to High Camp
Short break and equipment retrieval at the refuge.
Hike Down to Base Camp
We continue hiking down the trail to reach Base Camp.
Return to La Paz
Meet your transport at Base Camp and return to La Paz. End of services, with unforgettable memories!
