Detailed Itinerary – Extended Madidi Expedition (5 Days)
Pick-up and Registration
Transfer to San Buenaventura to visit the Madidi National Park main office and register.
Journey to the Ecolodge
Vehicle trip (up to 3 hours) on the route between San Buenaventura and Tumupasa, with strategic stops to see birds and fauna.
Lunch
We will enjoy a revitalizing lunch upon arrival.
Hike on "Poroto Waiq'u" Trail
Start a hike to look for capuchin monkeys, tamarins, and various birds like the star-patterned tinamou and quail.
Return to the Lodge
Return to the ecolodge for dinner.

Dinner at the Ecolodge.

We start the day with an energizing breakfast at the ecolodge.
Hike on "Sambu" Trail
A 3-4 hour guided hike. Observation of green macaws, solitary eagles, and the possibility of seeing spider monkeys or tapirs.
Wairapata Natural Observatory
Enjoy the panoramic view of the mountain range and watch birds in flight.

We will enjoy lunch at the Ecolodge.
Hike on "Milenario" Trail
Discover medicinal plants and ancient trees. The guide will share knowledge of the jungle, natural medicines, and ancestral stories.

Dinner to conclude a day full of discoveries.

Descent via the "Ecological Path" to Wabudajajaida Stream
Descend to the Yariapo stream and enjoy a dip in its fresh waters.
Fauna and Flora Observation in Yariapo
Hike to see peccaries, monkeys, and diverse birds. Learn ancestral stories and about tools of the Uchupiamonas. Optional: Learn ancestral fishing techniques.

A well-deserved lunch and rest before continuing.
Hike to "Cabaña del Chileno"
Hike to this point to enjoy a view overlooking the forest, with a chance to see monkeys in the distance.

Dinner to close out the day.

4x4 Safari to Kullpana
Departure in 4x4 vehicles deep into the forests to Kullpana, where you can see tracks of different mammals.

Lunch during the expedition.
Hike in Kullpana
Chance to spot tapirs, monkeys, and birds that appear at dusk, such as the Amazonian pygmy owl. Opportunity for nocturnal wildlife viewing.
Option 1: If you camped at Kullpana
Early Morning: Wake up very early for a walk in the dark around the camp, trying to spot tapirs and other nocturnal animals.
Sunrise: Enjoy the sounds of nature and animals at dawn.
Traditional Breakfast.
Return to the Lodge: Return to the lodge to rest before lunch.
Option 2: If you returned to the lodge on Day 4

Hike on "Cakiawaca" Trail: A three-hour hike along the edge of the hill. Possibility of spotting endemic birds and tapirs.
