The Noel Kempff Mercado National Park is located in the department of Santa Cruz, it is of great importance due to the high biological value it has.
Within the park the visitor can carry out a wide variety of activities: trekking along trails, camping, observation of flora and fauna.
In addition to conducting scientific research, bathing in natural pools, visiting communities, canoeing, observation of birds, filming and photography, return fishing, visits to archaeological sites and rappelling. But of all these activities, two stand out above the rest: the observation of flora and fauna and the visit to the waterfalls.
To observe the falls, the best season to visit is during the rainy season, between January and April or May. On the contrary, if what you want is to observe animals you have to go when the waters are low since there are more possibilities of seeing large animals on the beaches.
Jaguars, monkeys, capybaras, londras, deer and turtles are some of the most emblematic animals found within the park. But the number of registered species is even greater: 1,325 including fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals; 347 species of insects and 4,000 species of plants.
