Itinerary
DAY 1. RURRENABAQUE – MADIDI NATIONAL PARK.
We begin our tour, from Rurrenabaque at 08:00, in a boat for three hours on the Beni and Tuichi rivers, therefore, during the tour we will be able to observe the natural beauty that surrounds us. Later, hours later, we will arrive at our ecolodge, where we will accommodate ourselves in the traditional style, where we will have a very nutritious lunch.
After our lunch at the ecolodge, we will begin a 3-hour guided walk along a jungle path until we reach the Aguapolo River, where you can walk along the banks of the river and thus observe the natural nesting cliff of parrots and macaws. During the tour you will have the possibility to observe some species of animals and many birds along the way.
At night, we will enjoy dinner at the ecolodge, then you will have the opportunity to take a night walk where you can see a wide variety of insects, tarantulas, grasshoppers, moths, frogs and with luck, a mammal.
DAY 2. MADIDI NATIONAL PARK.
After a delicious breakfast in the morning, a walk of approximately 3 to 4 hours begins through the Path, a route where monkeys, spiders, and many other species of birds are frequently seen. Therefore, the trail will lead you to the natural viewpoint, where you will have a spectacular view of the primary forest and the meanders of the river with the name Aguapolo. Next, we will return to the ecolodge to enjoy a good lunch along the path called Tereche.
After a short break at the ecolodge, we embark on a 3-hour guided hike through the jungle trails. Along the route you will be able to observe a great variety of giant trees such as the mapajo, matapalo and almendrillo, with more than 300 years, considered the most leafy in the Amazon jungle. Accompanied by your local guide, you will have the opportunity to learn about medicinal plants and their healing benefits for health. Next, we will return to the ecolodge along the path called Dati, later we will taste a traditional dinner of the place, which will consist of (catfish cooked in heliconea leaves) and to end the day we will have a conversation about the customs of the communities that they live in the area.
DAY 3. MADIDI NATIONAL PARK – RURRENABAQUE.
Very early in the morning, after a good breakfast, we set out by boat on the Tuichi River bound for the Serere trail. We will start a walk until we reach the piranha lagoon, where you can optionally go piranha fishing. On this tour you will be able to see the riverside forest where the yellow squirrel monkey is frequently sighted. After the fishing activity we will visit a mammalian salt flat, where you can learn about the behavior of the animals. Next, we will return to the Ecolodge in our boat where we will have a good farewell lunch on this last day. Finally, we return to Rurrenabaque.
Depending on the time of year, we will visit Caquiahuara, a natural attraction located about a 20-minute walk from the Tuichi River, where you can see the red and green macaws on a rocky outcrop in the middle of the jungle. On the other hand, the return trip by boat lasts 2 hours. At approximately 4:00 p.m. we will be arriving in Rurrenabaque.
