GENERAL DESCRIPTION.

Incallajta Totora, Bolivia, is one of the most important archaeological complexes in beautiful Bolivia. It is located in the municipality of Pocona in the department of Cochabamba, at 2950 m.a.s.l. The archaeological citadel of Incallajta is being promoted by national and regional entities as Cultural Heritage of Humanity before UNESCO. The city was built by Túpac Yupanqui and rebuilt by Huayna Cápac, during visits to Cochabamba, Pocona and central Bolivia. It was a military fortress, political, administrative and ceremonial center of the Inca Empire or Tahuantinsuyo and geographical border of the Inca Empire against the invasions of the Chiriguanos.
