SAJAMA NATIONAL PARK TOUR 2 DAYS

DESCRIPTION

National Protected Area, is the highest peak in Bolivia, located in the Western Cordillera of Bolivia, located in the Curaguara de Carangas Province, in the department of Oruro. It was declared a National Park due to the abundance of highland wild fauna and flora, such as queñua, which forms the highest forest in the world, yareta, tolas and straw.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Tour to the Sajama National Park is the first National Park created in 1939, live a true adventure out of the ordinary. Also, enjoy the calm atmosphere with an impressive view of the Sajama volcano, which looks imposing in Bolivia. However, on this tour you can enjoy a high Andean ecosystem in all its extension. Likewise, it has an area of 100,223 hectares, located in the cantons of Sajama, Laguna, Cosapa, Caripe and Curahuara de Carangas in the Province of Sajama in the department of Oruro.



Itinerary

Day 1: La Paz – Curahuara de Carangas – Sajama.

We start the day picking up from your hotel at 07:30 a.m., therefore, on the way we will be able to appreciate beautiful landscapes of the Altiplano. Likewise, we will be able to observe one of the oldest chapels in South America, the Church of Curahuara. Later, we will visit the Huayna Khota lagoon, we will walk through the Queñua tree forest in the Sajama mountain.

Day 2: Sajama – Sajama Viewpoint – Patacamaya – La Paz.

Very early in the morning we will start with a good breakfast in the place. To then take a 20-minute walk to the Sajama viewpoint, in this place we will take fascinating photographs of the snow-capped mountain, and we will also have a magnificent view of the plain, at an altitude of (4900 m.a.s.l.). Afterwards, we return to the lodge for lunch. Finally, we return to La Paz, on the way we will stop to observe two pre-Columbian archaeological centers “Chullpas” and the formations of canyons and volcanic rocks.
