The Death Route Tour in La Paz, Bolivia, was officially named the most dangerous road in the world in 1995. Likewise, in recent decades, it has become the biggest tourist attraction in La Paz. Likewise, the death route has become safer in recent years, as traffic has been stopped on many parts of the road to give cyclists a safe ride.
